Minimum requirement for the training and qualification of masters officers ratings and other personnel on passengers ships
- Masters officers and rating and other personnel serving on board passengers ships, other ro-ro passengers ships prior to being assigned shipboard duties, shall have completed the relevant training in accordance with their capacity with their capacity duties and responsibilities.
- Masters, officers and other personnel designated on muster lists to assist passengers in emergency situations on board passengers ships shall have completed training in crowd management as specified in section A-V/3 paragraph 1 of the STCW Code.
- Masters, Officers and other personnel assigned specific duties and responsibilities on board passengers ships shall have completed the familiarization training as specific in section A-V/3, paragraph 2 of the STCW Code.
- Personnel providing direct service to passengers in passenger space on board passenger ships shall have completes the safety training as specified in section A-V/3, paragraph 3 of the STCW Code.
- Masters, Chief Mates and every person assigned immediate responsibility for embarking and disembarking passengers shall have complete training in passengers safety as specified in section A-V/3, paragraph 4 of the STCW Code.
- Masters, Chief Mates Chief Engineer Officers, Second Engineer Officers and any person having responsibility for the safety of passengers in emergency situation on board passengers ships shall have completed approved training in crisis management and human behavior as specified in section A-V/3, paragraph 5 of the STCW Code.
- Masters, officers, seamen, rating and other personnel serving on board passenger ship shall on satisfactory completion of approved relevant training in crowd management and human behavior, be issued with an appropriate certificate.
- Masters, Chief Mates Chief Engineers Officers And Second Engineer Officers who are qualified in accordance with this rules and hold an appropriate certificate, shall present their certificate of competency to the chief Examiner concerned to the Examiner concerned as the case may be and obtain an endorsement for service on passenger ships.
- Seafarers who are required to be trained in according with sub rules (2), (5), and (6) shall at intervals not exceeding five years undertake appropriate refresher training.
